The health benefits of Wildcrafted Caribbean Glacilaria Seamoss are abundant. As a soothing aid to all mucous membranes, Seamoss is said to ease ailments such as gastritis, nausea, indigestion, constipation, as well as ulcers. It also has antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral and anticoagulant activities. Used topically, it may help soothe skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and burns. A. POWDER FORM
-Activate on need basis by pouring some powder into some boiling spring water and keep stirring to avoid lumpy formations.
-You can also boil to make a gel and store it in the refrigerator (refer to Step 5 below).Boiling gets rid of some ocean/salty taste and also produces more volume of gel. You can add key lime too.
B. DRIED RAW FORM
-Soak in cold natural spring water for some hours. About 3-8 hours will be adequate. This is to rehydrate and re-electrify it from it’s dried state into live ocean state. Also, soaking it will help to loosen any salt, creek and sand remnants. We leave the dried form in its raw form for those who would like to proof the ‘wildcrafted’ promise.To get rid of the sea/salty taste you can add key lime.
-Rinse as many times to your satisfaction. Pour out the water, after lifting out/up the seamoss to avoid carrying some sedimented sand along the seamoss.
-Place the seamoss in a container (glass, stainless steel preferably) and add boiled spring water into the container till the water covers the seamoss. Allow the seamoss to simmer in the hot water for about 40mins or there about. You can also boil your seamoss for those who do not own a blender and use a sieve to smoothen out all the strands into a gel.
-Let the soaking water cool and pour the Seamoss and water into your blender.Blend until it turns into liquid. You can add more spring water if the consistency is too thick for smooth blender rotation.
-Further allow to cool after blending.Pour out the jelly liquid into a glass jar/jug. Place in your refrigerator with a perforated lid or cloth to allow ‘breathing’. Do not freeze it once activated.This will then turn to gel form after a few hours. It can stay in refrigerator for some weeks if you use spring water but otherwise,three weeks maximum.
